CCL-Carnival Sunrise cruise ship's air conditioning fails while at sea

carnival cruise ship air conditioning

It is not unusual for different areas of a large cruise ship to have temperature fluctuations based on ventilation, air flow, outside doors, whether that part of the ship may be shaded, and other factors. Carnival Cruise Line brand ambassador John Heald has also commented on the air conditioning issues experienced not just by Carnival Sunrise, but on several ships. Furthermore, refunds are only calculated based on the days where the measured stateroom temperature was too high and may be different for guests in different staterooms. Second, if you in a balcony and it has gotten too hot and you want to cool it down really quick, try this.

Do Cruise Ships Have Air Conditioning in Public Spaces?

"Any guest whose cabin was not cooled to our threshold comfort level was provided a refund of 50 percent of their fare, for each day that their stateroom was impacted," the Carnival Cruise Line statement said. "Depending on the extent of the impact, different guests might have received a different total of refund, but the process and calculation was consistent on a per day basis." Insider reviewed her bill and a letter from Carnival Cruise Line indicating she'd been offered a 50% refund of her cruise fare in the form of a credit to her online account. Though she was promised the same refund as some other passengers, Jones told Insider she hadn't received any further communication from the company. Cruise ships have heating in all public spaces and also in the cabins. The heating does work relatively well but I would recommend you pack a few warm items of clothing no matter where you are cruising to.

The line said the elements combined put additional stress on the air conditioning system and caused it not to reach a comfortable temperature. Guests aboard Carnival Sunrise are receiving partial refunds of their cruise fare due to a failure of the air conditioning system onboard that has created excessive temperatures far above expected levels. Onboard technicians have been working on the issue, and refunds will vary based on temperatures recorded in guests’ staterooms.

We were on Magic last July in a spa balcony all the way forward starboard. This particular spa balcony did not have a roof above it on the balcony. Because of this lack of shade, the room was just a bit warmer than 70F, but keeping the curtains closed most of the time solved the problem. Ilana Kol is a Personal Cruise Consultant at Norwegian Cruise Line. She has been an avid traveler and cruise enthusiast since her childhood days. Kol graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in engineering.

The ship visited Jamaica and Grand Cayman before returning to Miami on Saturday, July 29. Never thought to do this & I have been in some pretty warm balcony cabins. If you are in a balcony cabin, its gonna depend on if someone close to you is leaving their balcony door open.

How Cold is The Air Conditioning on Cruise Ships?

I didn't know that the card slot controlled the AC - I thought it only controlled the lights. I always turn the lights out when leaving the cabin anyway so it wouldn't hurt for me to leave a card in the slot. I am always kicking off that heavy comforter and just use the sheet. The other thing to know is that if you want a fan, go to Guest Services when you board and request a fan for your cabin. Also, if the duvet on the bed is too heavy, your cabin steward can bring you a thin blanket instead. The ship also experienced power loss in 2010, 2014, and 2017.

On July 24, Carnival Sunrise departed from Miami for a five-night Western Caribbean itinerary, reports Cruise Hive. However, the ship started suffering air conditioning issues, leading to extremely hot areas, including guest staterooms. Cruise ships don’t normally have any windows that open on any deck other than the top decks so the temperature onboard is controlled solely by air conditioning. "I haven't received any refunds for this cruise nor been offered any," one impacted passenger, who preferred not to be identified by name, told Insider in an emailed statement. "I contacted customer service and was told I needed to email them my concerns. A representative couldn't handle my concerns. The reply email I received said that I could expect an email reply on upwards to 45 days from now." This is the second time air conditioning failure has been reported on this particular ship this summer.

The line said the air conditioning issues impacted select staterooms around the ship and public areas. The ocean temperature in the region is over 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with the outside temperatures reaching nearly 100. Passengers on board quickly took to social media to highlight how many people on the ship were affected, sharing pictures of long lines to speak to guest services. While the cruise line mentioned that the AC issues impacted only a limited number of people, they offered these affected passengers a 50% refund of their ticket price, and some were provided with buckets of ice to try to keep cool. Surprisingly, the earliest documented evidence of air conditioning being installed aboard cruise ships dates all the way back to the 1930s. The SS Victoria was equipped with air conditioning in its public dining areas, and a few of the more costly staterooms also included air conditioning.

In the non suite area, we have found that aft wraps have more also. A temperature sensor at the heat exchanger’s output sends data to a programmable logic controller in order to monitor the output of the heat exchanger. The programmable logic controller is in continuous communication with an automated regulating valve located at the input of the heat exchanger.

My group tends to be hot blooded, and just walking around can work up a sweat, especially with a mask on. I am hoping the cabin stays cool with the curtain closed while we are out and about. Guests are receiving up to a 50% refund of their cruise fare for this inconvenience, but only for the days of the cruise where the measured temperature was too high. The refund also doesn’t include port taxes or fees, or any money spent by guests during those affected days.

The first time was on the July 24 Grand Cayman cruise, and after customer complaints, Carnival told Insider that "the main coils that led to the problem" had been replaced and the cruise line was "finishing" the rest of the repairs. However, seven passengers who returned from an August 7 voyage on the ship to the Cayman Islands told Insider they experienced temperatures so unbearable on board that they said became dangerous. While sailing in the Caribbean at the end of July, the 101,509-gross ton Carnival Sunrise has suffered repeated air conditioning issues that have created excessively hot areas of the ship, including in some guest staterooms. Many cruise guests bring small fans onboard to promote better air circulation in staterooms, and opening balcony doors can also provide a cooling breeze under the right conditions. If guests do not bring a fan onboard, a limited number of fans may be available to request from stateroom attendants. The air conditioning used aboard more recent cruise ships is often of a very high caliber. They lower the temperature much lower than what anybody could possibly perceive to be pleasant.

She began her career as an engineer but soon realized that she was not cut out for the profession, so she decided to work in a cruise ship company. Under typical circumstances, there are detectors that measure the amount of CO2 in the air and control the operation of the air conditioner according to the requirements. Because of the widespread of the Coronavirus, the air conditioning settings on all operating boats have been increased to their maximum capacities.

I can’t speak to the city pass in London, not having been there in the last few years, but in Paris in March it was amazing. We walked right into Musée D’Orsay, the Louvre, the L’Orangerie, and Ste. Chapelle with no wait—and the lines were already at least an hour long. We're going to Oslo a couple days early, then taking the train to Bergen. Our tour with Viking to the Giant's Causeway was also a good one.

Iceland & Norway’s Arctic Explorer

It included a good overview of the main island, including being able to get out and see the standing stones. There was also plenty of time to wander on our own in a couple of nice villages. You must take out insurance suitable for your needs before you travel.

This 13-day voyage from London to Bergen (or the reverse) sails far north into the Arctic Circle, providing a glimpse into the stunning natural beauty, fascinating history and enduring culture of seven intriguing ports along the way. Itinerary and shore excursions are subject to change and may vary by departure. Great information and very timely as I am spending hours researching our BI cruise in April 2023! Would love to hear about every port, what you did, and if you would recommend from personal experience any of the included tours. Finally, don't feel that you must take only the Viking included shore excursions (because you've already paid for them in your fare). Sharing a private guide with a couple of other couples from your Roll Call will usually allow you to combine the sights from two different ship tours and still keep the cost reasonable.

Bergen, an ancient city with deep Viking roots, is nestled between gargantuan snowcapped mountains, magnificent fjords and one of Europe's largest glaciers. Founded in 1070 on what was a Viking settlement, Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. Not to be missed is a stroll through the Fisketorget, where the fresh catch of the sea awaits—from cod and prawns to local caviar and icy oysters. They have many itineraries that offer good introductions to the areas they are sailing in, and of course the ships are always elegant and uncrowded. This 13-day cruise from Barcelona to Venice (or the reverse) features some of the best the Mediterranean has to offer, including Barcelona, Toulon, Monte Carlo, Florence, Rome, Naples, the medieval town of Dubrovnik and Venice.

It is a long day, but you get to see a beautiful part of Wales. This excursion was sold out, so when we got on board, we went immediately to the service desk and asked to be put on a waitlist. They ended up creating a whole second group for this excursion because of the widespread interest. The cruise ship fuel surcharge is additional revenue to Viking Cruises, as are any additional charges relating to currency fluctuation other than for fully paid cruise fares and full fares. Follow in the footsteps of Viking explorers as you journey to the majestic shores of Iceland. Witness unparalleled beauty amid breathtaking volcanic landscapes and encounter centuries-old traditions of the Faroe Islands.

Along the Golden Mile, high-end boutiques are reminiscent of those found in Paris, and the opulent Grand Opera House stands as a hub of Belfast culture. Liverpool is celebrated as the 'World Capital of Pop;' 56 musicians born and bred here have had #1 singles. Most notably, the legendary Beatles—John, Paul, George and Ringo—hailed from this port city. But it is more than music that has put Liverpool on England's cultural map. Royal Naval College is a major symbol of Britain's seafaring heritage and the architectural centerpiece of Greenwich.

Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history and of the centuries old traditions that were part of the ceremony not to mention that of the Tower and its surrounding grounds. Since all the Yeoman are long term (retired) military men they are carefully selected for this honor. We felt that we were privileged to experience this and had a wonderful opportunity to experience an important part of English history. Cruises & Cruise Deals Plan Your Cruise Vacation

norwegan cruise

If you're a U.S. citizen, you don't need a passport for most sailings from U.S. ports (including sailings to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, the Mexican Riviera and Alaska). For those with money to burn (pricing on Norwegian Encore recently was $99 per person for a day pass), the Vibe Beach Clubs are lovely, secluded deck-top hideaways. However, there's a downside for everyone else on board the ships that have them, which is that they take away from the deck-top lounge space available to everybody else.

Norwegian Sun

There's nothing quite like Galaxy Pavilion in the cruise world. You might even find Starbucks stores on some ships (the one-year-old Norwegian Prima has two!) and there are Starbucks products on every Norwegian vessel. Also, some ships have private restaurants just for passengers staying in The Haven. Every vessel has two or three main restaurants and a casual buffet where meals are included in the fare — the latter is usually called the Garden Cafe. On Norwegian's recently built Breakaway Plus-class ships, there are up to 20 places to grab a bite, ranging from high-end French restaurants and steakhouses to casual pubs. With an overwhelming world of choices, we understand you may need some personal assistance to plan your perfect vacation.

Service That Puts You First

Also striking is the look of a version of Le Bistro, Norwegian's signature French eatery, that can be found on both of these vessels. Both of the spaces are built around three massive crystal chandeliers costing nearly $100,000 that hang down to the floor — a showstopper of a design element. Here we list our top picks for the best Norwegian cruise ships for five different types of travelers. There's tons of great entertainment on Norwegian's vessels, plenty of venues for eating and drinking, and all sorts of deck-top diversions — at least on the line's newest ships. Throw in the brand's low starting prices, and it's an even more compelling package. All cabins on Norwegian vessels have standard North American-style, 110-volt outlets and European-style, 220-volt outlets.

Escape to the Tropics: 2021-2022 Winter Cruises

This private oasis is a ship within a ship and offers a breathtaking sundeck, exclusive amenities and unparalleled personalized service. Choose from a large variety of spacious suites, including the all-new Haven Duplex Suite. This ultra-spacious loft features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, plus all the incredible amenities included when you stay in The Haven. Known for its "freestyle" cruising, the laid-back Norwegian experience is all about choice, offering one of the largest selections of dining and entertainment venues per ship.

More Wide-Open Spaces

Norwegian Sun is also one of the smallest and least kid-focused of the five ships the line deploys to Alaska in summer, making it a good choice for retirees wanting to visit that destination. Families with kids naturally gravitate to the two giant, activity-packed vessels Norwegian sends to Alaska each summer — Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Bliss. The entryway to each of these ships, for instance, deposits you at the three-story-high Penrose Atrium, which may be the most beautiful atrium of any big ship at sea. It has a curvy, sculptural feel as if the entire space were an art piece.

Norwegian Jewel

Most lines allow passengers to bring at least a bottle or two of their own wine on board at no charge. The biggest two of them, on Norwegian Viva and Norwegian Prima, are nearly 1,400 feet long and sprawl over three decks. Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Epic, for instance, have the Cavern Club, a reproduction of the British club that gave rise to the Beatles. It comes complete with a cover band that plays the group's greatest hits. Many of Norwegian's biggest ships have state-of-the-art theaters as big as those you'd find on Broadway, with big-name productions to match. Norwegian Bliss, for instance, has the Tony Award-winning "Jersey Boys."

Stylish and sophisticated appointments enhance these modern rooms. Welcome to a place where the ocean meets the healing waters within — the breathtaking new Mandara Spa. From multiple detoxifying saunas to state-of-the-art pools to a two-story waterfall, the experience on Norwegian Prima will awaken every sense.

Pacific Coastal Cruises

The top decks of a few Norwegian ships — mostly the bigger ones — also have a ropes course, a climbing wall or both. As is the case with the Galaxy Pavilion attractions mentioned above, the go-kart and laser tag experiences on Norwegian ships don't come cheap. You'll pay $15 per person for an eight-lap romp on the go-karts. Norwegian ships also all have Mandara Spas, which can be quite big on the bigger vessels, and there are fitness centers on every ship. If you know you want to eat at several extra-charge restaurants during a single voyage, you can buy one of several dining packages that offer meals at a discount. The Garden Villas also have private outdoor sun decks and courtyards with hot tubs.

The line's biggest vessels offer multiple entertainment venues, from theaters to comedy clubs; a wide range of deck-top attractions; large casinos; full-service spas; and even virtual reality attractions. You'll also find a seemingly endless array of bars, lounges and nightspots. The exclusive, keycard-accessed suite complex called The Haven (found on 13 of Norwegian's 19 ships) comes with private lounges, pools and other tony features. It's essentially a small, luxury vessel that has been planted atop otherwise middle-class, mass-market megaships. These complexes appeal to well-heeled travelers who want a luxury cruising experience while also getting all the fun attractions, entertainment and dining venues only a mass-market megaship can offer. To the first-time seekers and explorers of the extraordinary.

norwegan cruise

Reaching the second tier, Silver (20 points), would take at the most three cruises if you're doing seven-night trips. Norwegian allows you to bring bottles of your own wine or Champagne on board, but it will charge you a hefty corkage fee of $15 per bottle for the privilege — even if you plan to drink the bottle in your room. This is a more draconian policy than you'll find at most lines.

You'll find a decent number of people from other English-speaking countries, and smaller numbers from South America and Europe. On European cruises, North Americans still dominate but you'll find more people from the United Kingdom and other European countries. One ship, Norwegian Joy, was designed specifically for the Asian market, and the vast majority of passengers on this ship will be from China. The first two Breakaway-class ships entered service in 2013 and 2014 as Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway.

As a result, it draws far fewer families than most of the vessels mentioned above and caters more to an older crowd of mostly couples. Indeed, the ship often is at the top of the list when you sort cruises by lowest price on Norwegian's website. We've seen these private The Haven suite areas on Norwegian ships before but never on this scale. If it's living large on a Norwegian ship that's your goal, you're not going to find anything better than this. That's all on top of dedicated children's play areas, pools and family-friendly entertainment that will keep your family busy from morning to night. If you're sure you know what sort of cabin you want, on which ship, on which itinerary — and about a dozen other things — you can head over to ncl.com to make a booking directly.

Specialty Firework Cruises Are Back at Walt Disney World Resort!

They had signage for where to check in and load at the docks. Leaving from Disney’s Contemporary Resort, our journey took us past Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian Resort, Fort Wilderness and The Grand Floridian. We also saw Discovery island that was in operation before Animal Kingdom was built.

And all guests will receive “Mickey Vision” glasses to transform their view of the fireworks. You’ll be able to see all the fireworks from this vantage point. To Book

If you plan to take a taxi or Uber/Lyft to Magic Kingdom, this is the official drop-off spot for that, as well as being the place where some of the offsite buses drop off guests for Magic Kingdom. Of course, you’d have to have a park ticket to book one of the parties inside Magic Kingdom, but you’d also get a much, much better view of the fireworks. On land, even watching from a resort shore, is crowded and loud.

Jamie’s Destination “Do”s and “Don’t”s: Xcaret Resorts, Mexico

I was also surprised to be shown the old water park, River Country. Most people won’t keep those forever, so the cookie kinda makes sense, but it also doesn’t feel as “ooooooh! All this said, one thing that HASN’T changed is the price — it was and remains $100 a person. Much like the cupcakes, these were nothing particularly special, but still hit the spot.

Electrical Water Pageant Viewing

Like other Magic Kingdom Dessert Parties, the Ferrytale Fireworks dessert cruise allows you to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks while dining on a range of desserts and beverages (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic). Watching from the water was unlike any way I have ever viewed the fireworks before. It was absolutely breathtaking to watch the glittering fireworks rain down over the castle, with the lagoon lighting up with the reflection of colors. The 25 foot boat seats up to ten guests, and costs around $449 plus tax.

Specialty Fireworks Cruise: A Value-Priced VIP Experience

From here you’ll board one of the Disney World ferries such as the general Joe Potter. Enjoy an evening of yummy desserts and amazing views of the night sky. For example, if you were planning on booking the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party for your family, that will cost you $99 per adult. A Specialty Fireworks Cruise starts at $399 per night (that varies depending on the season - the number of people in your group doesn’t affect the rate at all) and that price covers a party of up to 10 guests. If you’ve got the cash to blow, we think you’ll enjoy the experience.

Snacks Included

They do their best with it, but it’s still a chill party on floating Disney transportation. 😂 It’s still quite fun but not as much ambiance as, say, a dedicated viewing area on land could be. With a Disney fireworks cruise, you and your friends can rent a private pontoon boat to sail around Disney waters and watch fireworks. You have two choices of fireworks with Disney specialty cruises – Magic Kingdom fireworks or EPCOT fireworks. Your experience will include a captain, assorted snacks and soft drinks.

Also, be sure to stake out a spot to view the fireworks ASAP! We recommend grabbing a plate then cozying up to a railing somewhere to nibble while you wait. There was also PhotoPass available before and during the cruise, but it wasn’t included in the price of admission unless you already have Memory Maker. Pricing may vary based on time of day and is subject to change. Guests are asked to arrive an hour and 15 minutes prior to fireworks start time. You can now choose from multiple fireworks options at Walt Disney World.

Plus, you can choose from a selection of specialty drinks themed to the sparkling shooting stars of the fireworks. Alcoholic options are available for Guests 21 years of age or older. For the kiddos, there’s also an ultraviolet scavenger hunt.

But we’re hoping it was just a technical difficulty on that first cruise. It was also a bit tough to get a good spot to see the fireworks (thankfully, someone was kind enough to share their spot with us). But if you prefer to sit or have tykes with you, you’ll need to stake out a spot well in advance to ensure you have a good view, and in the end, you might find yourself sharing elbow room with your neighbor. When you’re paying $100 bucks a person, you kind of expect you’ll get a great view of the show, but that wasn’t a guarantee here like it practically is at most other firework parties we’ve attended.

On our cruise, we set sail from the Contemporary resort 75 minutes before the Magic Kingdom fireworks were due to start. Our skipper spent plenty of time telling us lots of stories about the sights we saw as we toured Bay lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. You are able to book speciality fireworks cruises to watch current nighttime shows at Disney World. These are currently Harmonious at Epcot, or Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom.

If you have little pirates or mermaids with you that do not necessarily like the loud noise of the fireworks when watching in the park, this is a great option to try. Did you know at Disney you could book your own private 25ft pontoon boat to have a view of the fireworks from Seven Seas Lagoon? This is one of several experiences offered for the nighttime fireworks shows. This cruise is available to anyone - you don’t need to be staying at the resort your cruise leaves from, and you don’t even need to be staying on Disney property. I highly recommend making the Specialty Fireworks Cruise part of your vacation - it will be the highlight! Each time we’ve done this cruise, it’s been the most memorable part of the trip and it’s something we’ll continue to do over and over again - truly one of the best experiences Walt Disney World has to offer.

Cessna 182 Turbo Skylane: Business Turbo for the Family Man

cessna 182 cruise speed

As you read you will find the aircraft can be fitted with more avionics, larger fuel capacity, and more efficient weight requirements. It can be fairly unobtainable, especially for younger pilots, to find a Skylane that is both affordable and in good flying condition. Be prepared to fork over a pretty penny for one of these planes in comparison to similar aircraft like the Skyhawk. Average cost of the Skylane is going to be around $50,000 more than the smaller 172. If you’re looking for a cheap airplane, the Cessna 182 is not going to be your first choice.

Cessna 182 - Performance Data

Ground handling during landings finally saw a small improvement in 1970 with the 182N, thanks to further widening of the track to 13.5 feet. Gross weight was bumped up again to 2950 pounds with tapered tubular steel legs replacing the spring-steel gear. In 1972 low-speed handling was improved further by adding a leading-edge cuff, extending the dorsal fin, and shock-mounting the cowling. This model (182P) stayed in production for 4 years, outlasting each of its predecessors.

cessna 182 cruise speed

Wingspan

They have built dozens of different 182 models, all with similar fuel burn and engine designs, making it easy to track how well these planes manage long-distance flying. The airplane also returns to Earth with similar reliability, demanding minimum piloting skill. Takeoff and landing runway requirements are minimal, if not exactly in the STOL class.

Aircraft Performance Data

Pilots who dont use as much rudder to help roll out of a turn as they used rolling in will wallow all over the sky. (They never seem to notice how far the ball slid outside the cage.) The RG likewise needs nimble and firm rudder work on and near the runway to keep the nose straight on takeoff and in crosswinds. No wonder the model sold well initially, until the industry hit a brick wall within a few years of the retractable Skylanes introduction.

Cessna 182 Guide And Specs : Pricing And Performance

As mentioned at the start, the 182 is bigger, faster, and smoother than its predecessor with more options for avionics, larger fuel capacity, and more efficient weight requirements. The aircrafts best climb rate is 1030 fpm for the lighter 1959 Cessna 182A, dipping to 865 fpm with the Cessna 182R and picking up again to 925 fpm with the turbocharged T182T. For aircraft equipped with the early Continental O-470 engine, the time between overhaul is set at 1500 hours.

Cessna 182 / Performance And Handling

Buying an aircraft can be one of the most enjoyable endeavors of a pilot’s career. So, it is imperative that you ask the right questions to figure out what’s best for you. Make sure you understand the full range of costs and considerations before making your purchase. We have created a guide for buying an aircraft and other considerations you should consider.

The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) mandating more fuel drains on each tank, but the bill is expensive for aircraft that have not had this work done already. Starting in 1963, the Cessna 182F introduced a one-piece windshield and rear window, which considerably increased visibility from the cabin. This number remained unchanged after the transition to the Lycoming IO-540 series, both with and without the supercharger.

Wing loading

Most of the noise comes from the propeller so if you need to reduce noise to be a good neighbor, reduce the rpm. That speed will allow for a gradual warm up and get the oil splashing around inside the engine. Drawing a comparison between the Cessna 172 Skyhawk and the Cessna 182 Skylane is intriguing, given their shared lineage from the renowned Cessna brand. Both aircraft, designed to accommodate four passengers and equipped with state-of-the-art avionics, are testaments to Cessna’s commitment to quality, reliability, and aviation excellence. While it might consume more fuel, the 182 compensates by offering increased range, speed, and payload capacity, making it suitable for longer journeys or missions requiring added power. Cessna 182 Skylane – The Cessna 182, given its larger engine and enhanced performance capabilities, has a slightly higher fuel consumption rate, typically around gallons per hour.

182s can climb with 40 degrees of flaps, but a 20-degree setting presents sensations and sights that are much closer to a normal takeoff. The last thing anyone needs during a go-around is a new set of sight pictures and performance anomalies. A second reason to get in the habit of landing with 20 degrees of flaps is because it reduces the number of tasks required to transition from a landing configuration to power-up-and-go settings. Pushing the mixture to the full rich position prior to let down is not necessary.

By any measure, Skylanes are almost universally regarded as wonderful machines, blessed with docile handling, reasonable performance, good reliability, and (in some cases) full fuel, four-place capability. Load-carrying capability is great with a useful load of 1170 pounds. We routinely operate out of grass airstrips and, in a pinch, with 20 degrees of flaps, the aircraft will break ground at 45 knots. The landing gear is very durable and we dont have to worry about wheel pants getting damaged.

This is why it is important to get an aircraft that is comfortable for all your needs. We often find people appreciate the 182 over the 172 due to its increased interior space. Not by much, however, it makes a huge increase in how comfortable the aircraft is for longer periods of time. We suggest sitting in both to understand how it feels based on your size and weight.

As far as its profile the Cessna 172 has a gross weight of 2,450 lb (1,111 kg) with an empty weight of 1,691 lb. Last but not least the Cessna 172 features a 56-gallon fuel tank which normally has around 50 usable gallons. At around 75% power or around cruise, the aircraft burns at a rate of 8.5 gallons per hour. This can also be extended with various auxiliary fuel tank options available in the Cessna line. Like most Cessna in its class the 172 generally features a Lycoming engine, four cylinder, horizontally opposed aircraft engine.

Its cabin can comfortably accommodate four passengers, making it suitable for personal trips, flight training, or short business journeys.
