In Invergordon, I booked through Trip Advisor, Avril's Tours (Amy) Dunrobin, Dornach, & Distillery. She was very knowledgeable about the area and made our day interesting. John was professional and knowledgeable, giving us information that was interesting, never boring. John took us on beautiful country roads away from the crowds to hidden gem with amazing scenery.

Explore "Inversnecky," as Scotland’s northernmost city on the banks of the Ness River is known locally. I’ve been to London at least five times for work but only once for pure play, So I will definitely appreciate this there. As an ex-Brit, I have taken my US wife many times to London as it serves as a starting and focal point of various road-trips in England and Wales that we have taken. Sail the North Sea, central to Europe’s history, from Viking voyages to oil drilling.

A UNESCO City of Literature, Dublin is the birthplace of many of Ireland's finest writers, from James Joyce and Oscar Wilde to Wiliam Butler Yeats. The people of Dublin have long celebrated the written word, nowhere more deeply than at the library of Trinity College, the hallowed home of the inspiring 9th-century illuminated Book of Kells. And there is much more to explore, from the soaring St. Patrick's Cathedral, the nation's spiritual touchstone, to Dublin Castle, built after the Norman invasion that unseated the Vikings here. Visit Barcelona’s cultural gems and explore the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter. Dividing the “Old World” from the “New World,” sail the second-largest of the Earth’s oceans.

I can’t speak to the city pass in London, not having been there in the last few years, but in Paris in March it was amazing. We walked right into Musée D’Orsay, the Louvre, the L’Orangerie, and Ste. Chapelle with no wait—and the lines were already at least an hour long. We're going to Oslo a couple days early, then taking the train to Bergen. Our tour with Viking to the Giant's Causeway was also a good one.
Iceland & Norway’s Arctic Explorer
It included a good overview of the main island, including being able to get out and see the standing stones. There was also plenty of time to wander on our own in a couple of nice villages. You must take out insurance suitable for your needs before you travel.

This 13-day voyage from London to Bergen (or the reverse) sails far north into the Arctic Circle, providing a glimpse into the stunning natural beauty, fascinating history and enduring culture of seven intriguing ports along the way. Itinerary and shore excursions are subject to change and may vary by departure. Great information and very timely as I am spending hours researching our BI cruise in April 2023! Would love to hear about every port, what you did, and if you would recommend from personal experience any of the included tours. Finally, don't feel that you must take only the Viking included shore excursions (because you've already paid for them in your fare). Sharing a private guide with a couple of other couples from your Roll Call will usually allow you to combine the sights from two different ship tours and still keep the cost reasonable.
Bergen, an ancient city with deep Viking roots, is nestled between gargantuan snowcapped mountains, magnificent fjords and one of Europe's largest glaciers. Founded in 1070 on what was a Viking settlement, Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. Not to be missed is a stroll through the Fisketorget, where the fresh catch of the sea awaits—from cod and prawns to local caviar and icy oysters. They have many itineraries that offer good introductions to the areas they are sailing in, and of course the ships are always elegant and uncrowded. This 13-day cruise from Barcelona to Venice (or the reverse) features some of the best the Mediterranean has to offer, including Barcelona, Toulon, Monte Carlo, Florence, Rome, Naples, the medieval town of Dubrovnik and Venice.
It is a long day, but you get to see a beautiful part of Wales. This excursion was sold out, so when we got on board, we went immediately to the service desk and asked to be put on a waitlist. They ended up creating a whole second group for this excursion because of the widespread interest. The cruise ship fuel surcharge is additional revenue to Viking Cruises, as are any additional charges relating to currency fluctuation other than for fully paid cruise fares and full fares. Follow in the footsteps of Viking explorers as you journey to the majestic shores of Iceland. Witness unparalleled beauty amid breathtaking volcanic landscapes and encounter centuries-old traditions of the Faroe Islands.
Along the Golden Mile, high-end boutiques are reminiscent of those found in Paris, and the opulent Grand Opera House stands as a hub of Belfast culture. Liverpool is celebrated as the 'World Capital of Pop;' 56 musicians born and bred here have had #1 singles. Most notably, the legendary Beatles—John, Paul, George and Ringo—hailed from this port city. But it is more than music that has put Liverpool on England's cultural map. Royal Naval College is a major symbol of Britain's seafaring heritage and the architectural centerpiece of Greenwich.

Visit the charming old town, home to the City Hall, Jens Bang’s House and Ålborghus Castle. Discover the sophisticated culture and history of one of Scotland’s earliest civilizations, the Picts. Visit one of Scotland’s most famed castles and a main site for reported sightings of the Loch Ness Monster.
Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history and of the centuries old traditions that were part of the ceremony not to mention that of the Tower and its surrounding grounds. Since all the Yeoman are long term (retired) military men they are carefully selected for this honor. We felt that we were privileged to experience this and had a wonderful opportunity to experience an important part of English history. The Shetland Islands may be remote, but history did not overlook them. At the excavation site of Jarlshof, tall, stone roundhouses date to the Iron Age and an ancient Norse longhouse tells of a Viking community.
